Step 1: Explore Our Programs
At South CTA, we offer unique pathways that prepare students for college and careers. Our programs are categorized into Interest-Based and Criteria-Based pathways, each with its own set of requirements.

Step 2: Understand Eligibility
Each pathway has specific eligibility criteria.
Criteria-Based Pathways
To qualify for Criteria-Based pathways, students need to meet minimum academic requirements based on their Semester 1 Grade Point Average and Semester 1 grades in English, Math, and Science. See the chart below for point values. Students must earn at least 16 points to be eligible for the lottery.
Interest-Based Pathways
No specific academic qualifications are required for these programs. All applicants enter the lottery and have an equal chance to be selected.

Step 3: Submit Your Application
The application process is simple and completed online through the CCSD Magnet Office Portal. Follow these steps:
Application Window: To be notified when the 2026-2027 Application opens, fill out the following Google Form found HERE
Late Applications: Applications for the 2026–2027 school year open in March
Program Selection: You may apply for up to three programs, ranking them in order of preference.
Required Documents: If student attends a non-CCSD school, such as a Charter or Private School, you must upload your first-semester report card that shows the first quarter, second quarter, and final semester 1 grade by the deadline.
Step 4: Selection Process
For programs where applications exceed available seats, a computerized lottery system is used. Here’s how it works:
Criteria-Based Programs: Only students who meet eligibility criteria enter the lottery.
Interest-Based Programs: All applicants enter the lottery.
Once the lottery is complete, you’ll receive a notification via the application portal with details on your status.
Step 5: Transportation Information
Transportation is available to students within our designated transportation zone (Silverado, Coronado, and Liberty High School). Use the check with CCSD Transportation Services to verify your eligibility for school-provided transportation.
Additional Information
Application Limit: You may apply for up to three programs.
Grade Levels: Applications are now closed
Mid-Year Enrollments: Mid-year enrollments or transfers from another CTA are not permitted.

South CTA Preview Night: December 10, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM
