Across Clark County Nevada there are several non-profit organizations and charities that provide Christmas assistance, including free food, presents for kids, free Christmas toys and meals. The agencies help children from low income and working poor families. kids from low income households in the Las Vegas area can apply to Toys for Tots at dozens of sites, Angel Tree from the Salvation Army and (partners), or get free Christmas gifts or meals (including Thanksgiving turkeys) from other Clark County charities.
Another main focus is on supporting seniors and providing companionship to them during the Christmas season. Some of what may be distributed includes free toys, gifts, clothing, games, and of course a hot meal. Volunteers also visit the elderly in nursing homes or homebound.
While almost all of the programs rely on donations and the time of volunteers, they still do their best to provide some form of holiday joy to all qualified applicants, including immigrants and Spanish speakers. They may also provide assistance during Thanksgiving and Easter. Most of the non-profits are located in the greater Las Vegas region, but they do support the entire county.
