Congratulations to Keller's own Mrs. Shavonne Liddic!
Congratulations to Ms. Liddic on winning the UNLV Teacher of the Game award! She will receive this amazing recognition at the UNLV—UNR game on Friday, February 28th.
"This teacher is a master at her craft. She is the only math teacher I have known where kids are excited to go to *math* class because they like learning. She also ran an award winning robotics program at a Title I school and as a STEM teacher she is inspiring young girls to get involved in traditionally male dominated fields. This is no easy feat on either account, but then again that's just a Tuesday morning for Ms. because she is just like that- all steady, dependable and truest to the cause of teaching kids- their betterment. Liddic is a model for what CCSD should strive for and yet her humble nature would roll six feet under if she knew she was up for this award. She truly does what she does because she loves education. She inspires me to be a better teacher each day and she deserves ALL recognition in the world for what she does because HOW she does it. Finding ways to innovate math and make it personal for kids isn't easy but it is important. Seeing how she helped foster the drive to the top for our valedictorian race that was both friendly, yet competitive helped set a great example that life is competitive but it also doesn't need to be abrasive, rude or mean spirited. Heck, this wasn't just a lesson for students, but a master class learning experience for anybody who could see this. I don't often nominate other teachers for their effort, but this is one lady I have tried to beat the drum for in the past but she hasn't won anything. A feather in her cap for what she does isn't what she is looking for, but it's what she deserves. I believe this to be true so much that when I finally achieved a lifelong dream of mine to be the designee for teacher of the year from my campus, I actually tried to turn down the nomination because I felt that she was far more worthy of that award than I was (that year and every year). So, it's with the best of intentions and the utmost respect that I nominate Shavonne Liddic for this award."
Spring Break is 17-21 March 2025
There is no school for students, but our office will be open from 7am-1pm every day.
Enjoy the break, Jayhawks! You deserve it!

Some of our team were nominated for and received the prestigious title of "All American", which is a high honor in cheerleading, given when a cheerleader demonstrates a high level of skill in the areas of jumps, dance, tumbling, or cheer. One of our girls was given the “Pin it Forward Award” that is given by camp staff to athletes they see exemplify leadership and kindness. The recipient then gives their second pin to another another athlete they see exemplifying the same qualities.
