Secondary (6-12) students are expected to show attendance by one of the 3 methods for each synchronous session they have for that course: Have two-way communication between student and teacher regarding course progress, a graded submission or attend a synchronous session. Elementary (K-5) students will have the options of a graded submission or the attendance of a synchronous session. You will have one week to complete these to be counted present for attendance. Your teachers will have either daily (K-5) synchronous sessions or 3 weekly (6-12) synchronous sessions. Failure to comply with attendance protocols may result in your removal from the online education environment.
Students will submit all assignments using the Canvas LMS. All educators in CCSD will be using the Canvas LMS for the foreseeable future and will be the main site to communicate with your teachers and peers for school related activities. Teachers are left with the discretion of when assignments will be submitted but gradebooks will close one week prior to the end of the quarter. Be sure to check the CCSD Calendar to become familiar with those dates. These dates will also be posted on your school's home page. If you are having issues submitting assignments be sure to contact your instructor and detail what is happening. If the instructor cannot help feel free to call the tech help line for the district.
Teachers are able to contacted through Canvas message system or through your school Gmail. Teachers will also have their contact information displayed on their Canvas home page. Teachers will respond to emails within 24 hours of the email during the school week. Secondary teachers will also have 2 hours of office time where you can go and talk with your teacher. Teachers will send out a weekly report to you and your parents about your current progress in the course. It is up to you to keep up with these emails and contact your teacher if you have questions about your progress.
