Candidates for President (Alphabetical)
Hi everyone! My name is Jack Reagan Lamping, but you can call me Certified Grilla. I’m running for your next Orchestra President. I’ve been playing viola for 8 years, and music has been such a huge part of my life. Over that time, I’ve learned not only how to play, but how important teamwork, communication, and dedication are in an orchestra.
One thing you should know about me—I really like monkeys. I don’t mean that in any metaphorical way. I just really like monkeys. People often tell me I’m easy to talk to, and I mean it when I say I’m always available to talk. Come talk to me you’ll see that I truly listen especially if it’s about monkeys.
If I become the next orchestra president I will work hard to make sure you get your music on time, unlike some people. (Mr. Thomas). Let’s make sure to GYYM- get you your music.
GYYM
Hi! I'm Abby! Violinist, foodie, singer, dancer, scholar, world traveler, Hope Squader, photographer, avid scrapbooker, clothing designer, doctor, lawyer, assemblywoman, and friend to most! All of these traits/roles are essential to orchestra council representatives and I can proudly say that I fit the mold!
This will be my 7th year in orchestra! A memorable moment: solo and ensemble superior rated w/ Sam, Benson, Matthew, and Ryan ayyy.
Orchestra is my happy place and I truly look forward to seeing my lovely friends and section every day. As orchestra council President, I'd love to work with Mr. Thomas and all the amazing council members to make this orchestra year spectacular and fun for all. We are a community, and I hope for everyone to feel engaged and connected to our program. I would love to represent our orchestra and you! Hooray! :)
Candidates for Vice President (Alphabetical)
Hi everyone! I’m Malia Higgins, I’m a sophomore. I have been in orchestra for 4 years, and I am a violist in the Advanced orchestra and I would love to run for Orchestra student council vice president because I fully want to help our orchestra thrive even more this year. As Vice President, I will always support our president, listen to your ideas, and do my best to make them happen. I am organized and approachable and experienced at bringing people together, I loved hosting a potluck, bringing together at least 100 students during final exam week of my freshman year! If I am elected I plan to help create fun events that include everyone, and continue to be a voice for orchestra members. And especially help our orchestra come closer together as a community. Thank you! I hope you consider me and I will do my best to work hard to make sure not only our music shines, but our community.
Hi everyone! My name is Landon, and I’m excited to be running for orchestra council. I’ve been playing the cello for 10 years, and music has always been a huge part of my life. During my freshman year, I was honored to be selected for chamber orchestra and earn principal cellist in honor orchestra. Outside of school, I play with Henderson’s most prestigious youth orchestra, the YAO Symphony. What matters most to me, though, isn’t just playing cello. It’s helping make orchestra a supportive, fun, and inspiring community for everyone. I also want to be someone you can count on, whether you need tutoring, help with music, or just support, I’ll always be there to give you a hand. If elected, I’d love to bring my experience, passion, and leadership to orchestra council so we can make this year our best one yet!
Hello! I am Nathan Miranda; a junior from your chamber orchestra. I have been committed to playing the violin since 7th grade making this year my 5th in terms of being part of an orchestra. I have been very involved whether it is through participating in outside orchestras like Honor Orchestra or playing in small groups like a quartet or solo and ensemble. You may have seen me around before and after school in the orchestra room and I am running for vice president in hopes to make a bigger impact on our orchestra environment. Don’t be shy and always reach out to me if you ever need help. Please vote for me to be your next VP! (I’m midnight approved 😁)
Hi my name is Lillian Ripps and I would like to be your future Vice.
I would love the opportunity to serve as your Vice President because orchestra has been an important part of my life for nearly four years in chamber, and I want to give back to a program that has shaped so much of my high school experience. While I don’t consider myself the most talented musician, orchestra has always been the place where I feel most connected, and I’m eager to use my strengths to support the group in new ways. I am organized and dependable, qualities that make me well-suited for responsibilities such as editing performance programs, coordinating stage crew and ushers, or assisting with publicity projects. I also bring creativity and energy to tasks like designing fliers, managing social media, or drafting invitations, and I’m willing to step in whenever help is needed. On top of that, I take pride in always looking the part—not only am I dressed for the occasion, but my hair is usually styled with as much precision as a carefully orchestrated symphony. With my mix of dedication, reliability, and humor, I believe I can contribute to a positive environment and help ensure our orchestra runs smoothly throughout the year.
Vote Me- Rippy!
Candidates for Historian (Alphabetical)
My name is Ruth Dominguez and my goal to be historian is to ensure our orchestra, not only embraces our music, but also shows our passion. I want everyone to have a good time, outside, and in orchestra. I’m glad to be a part of Coronado’s High School orchestra and I hope to make many more memories this year!
Hello everyone! My name is Ryan Ju, a junior at Coronado, and I’m running to be your Historian this school year. This year, if I become Historian, I hope to capture and preserve the moments that make our school year unforgettable. From spirit weeks to club events, I hope to capture every moment to be remembered in a way that’s fun and creative.
I bring both organization and creativity to the role: I’m experienced with photography, design, and documenting events, and I love putting together stories that underscore the people behind the moments. As Historian, I’ll make sure our events are recorded in a way that represents all students, not just a few.
Most importantly, by preserving our memories, we can cherish the moments that made our year special. I’ll also take special care in creating a thoughtful and exciting slideshow for the Orchestra Banquet that reflects all of our hard work and accomplishments.
I would be honored to earn your vote and serve as your Historian for the 2025-2026 school year!
Candidates for Publicist (Alphabetical)
Hi! I’m Laila, and I’m running to be in our orchestra’s council. I believe music connects people, and so does great communication. As publicist, I’ll make sure everyone knows about our performances, our progress, and the amazing things we’re doing together. My goal is to have the orchestra bloom as it continues to grow. I want to be the voice that helps tell our story, and make sure everyone hears it.
Thank you :)
Hi! My name is Sascha So, and I'm running for the Coronado High School Orchestra Publicist. I work on social media posts and editing photos a lot so I think I would be the perfect person for the job. I've helped some of my friends and family make posts that they like, as well as others. For outreach I'm hoping to make at least two to four posts a month on the orchestra and our progress so students from the middle schools see our program and the quality of our orchestra, and hopefully join and make it stronger.
Candidates for Librarian (Alphabetical)
Hello!! My name's Ilakkiya, and I'm a sophomore. I'm a violinist in Chamber, and I'm running to be the librarian for CHS Orchestra! I really enjoy organization and helping around wherever I can, and I'd love to work with the council and the orchestras to make sure we can have the best performances. I was a delegate last year, and I've volunteered at the library for 3 years, so I'm experienced in organization, paperwork, and working "behind-the-scenes". I hope I can be your friendly orchestra librarian this year, and I look forward to playing awesome music with you all! :]
