In general, plagiarism/cheating is viewed as a classroom issue that can be managed by the classroom teacher. If found guilty of cheating/plagiarism, a teacher may assign a "0" for the assignment, and may elect not to allow the student the opportunity to redo the assignment. Additionally, the teacher will contact the student's parent/guardian to inform them of the behavior and consequence.
Students who are caught cheating, repeatedly, may be referred to the Student Success Office for "Insubordination," and they will receive the appropriate consequences in the SSO while also receiving a "0" on the assignment.
Remember, there are great uses for technology that help progress learning, but your teachers want to see what YOU can do, not what the internet and Chat GPT can do.
In the end, cheaters only cheat themselves.
