Flipped Classroom

There has been much buzz about flipping the classroom. This model reverses the typical classroom lecture and homework elements. Digital content can be used by students at home (or before/after school open labs) prior to the class session. This allows for the physical class time to be devoted to practice, projects, and discussions.

This model works well when data from the digital curriculum is utilized to ensure student progress and understanding. Having students partake in the digital content outside the classroom provides more time within the classroom for socratic seminars, peer-to-peer collaboration, and authentic assessment tasks.
