Paralympics Sports Club is a CCSD club entity with full permission to operate as a district sponsored club for students with physical disabilities wanting to participate in a paralympic sports experience.
There are two branches of the club serving students and families in CCSD.
Monthly CCSD Paralympic Family Nights are designed to foster paralympic experiences in a safe successful environment with specialized staff from APE department leading the activities.
Local community partners, like the Nevada Paralyzed Veterans of America, provide free meals on select evenings.
The CCSD Paralympic Competition Team offers weekly practice sessions with specialized staff from APE acting as coaches to instruct student members. Events are chosen by student members to compete at national events, such as Desert Challenge (Phoenix, AZ) and Angel City Games (Los Angeles, CA).
Paralympic Sports Club works in three focus areas:
Student and Family Engagement
National Competitions and Skill Trained Coaching
Community Partnership and Networking
