UPDATES & SYSTEM/FEATURE ROLLOUT TIMELINE

Response to Intervention (RtI), now called Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) - Fall 2019

Previously RTI (now MTSS) was processed in eWork. The PowerSchool Team and the MTSS Coaches are working to deploy an online process replacement at the start of the 2019-2020 School Year. In the interim and for the remainder of the year, the MTSS process is being conducted via Google docs (Winnetka) or through paper copies (Northfield).

As of 3/12/2019, the team is working on finalizing the internal custom programming and testing the functionality and routing of forms. After we confirm that the initial functionality and routing is in order we will schedule a review with the MTSS coaches and we will further test in mid-April. The MTSS coaches will work with technology to refine the process and documentation, and an official rollout will occur at the start of the next school year.

Eligibility and 10th Period Class for Extracurricular Athletics - Fall 2019

The PowerSchool Team has been working with Tim Hayes and Jim Burnside on updating policy and adding functionality to the Eligibility Process and roster management through the use of a 10th-period class for extracurricular activities.

The following list is a tentative schedule for rollout throughout late spring 2019. The precise timing of these changes will be dependent on the other scheduled annual work and process improvement projects (collection of 3rd quarter & 2nd-semester grades, processing credit changes certain classes, conclusion of student class registration, master scheduling, state reporting, etc) :

  • Athletics Assistant Coaches' Access to student-athlete information through the use of a 10th Period Classes: In the Fall & Winter seasons, only Head Coaches had access to the 10th-period class which contained ALL student-athletes in their program, regardless of level. The list, imported from a newly implemented Athletics management system called rSchool, did not break down the rosters by level. For the Spring Season, Athletics is breaking down the programs into the appropriate levels (Frosh A, Frosh B, Varsity etc.). As a result, Spring sports are divided by levels and designated assistants now also have access to 10th-period classes for team rosters.
  • Athletics Coaches' Access to 10-Period Classes throughout the year: We currently run eligibility against active enrollment in a 10th-period class. To limit the number of students that show on a teacher's eligibility list, we have been setting the enrollment in Athletics 10th period classes to match the season start and end dates. This summer PowerSchool Team is working with Athletics on how to provide access year-round to the 10th-period classes while limiting eligibility processing to only include student-athletes who are in season.
