Flipgrid

Flipgrid is a free, educational platform that teachers and students can use to share short videos.

There are TONS of great ways to use Flipgrid to promote student engagement and interaction during Distance Learning.

Security guidance for NSSEO teachers and staff:

1. As much as possible, minimize the personally identifiable information (PII) you and your students share via Flipgrid (full names, birthdates, etc.)

2. Use a Flip Code to share your Flipgrids with students and parents

Students DO NOT create accounts with Flipgrid. Instead, teachers will customize and share a Flip Code to gain access to the Grid. Ensure that you do not share the Flip Code publicly (social media, websites, etc.)

3. Set up your Flip Grid using Student IDs

The most secure option for setting up a Flipgrid for Distance Learning is using Student IDs. Students will use the Flip Code and their Student ID to log in to the Grid and make their submission.

4. Moderate student video submissions for enhanced security

When students submit a video, teachers should review it prior to posting it for classmates to see on the Grid.
