Female leaders from the world of construction will take part in a panel discussion at Northampton College as part of a drive to get more young women into the industry. 12 of our NSG Year 10 students will participate in these activities and discussions throughout the day. This event aligns with International Women's Day on March 8th.
Y11 Challenge Sport & Education Motivational Session 11th March
Year 11 Students will participate in a 2 hour workshop session on Tuesday 11th March in our Spinney Theatre . Challenge’s workshops are designed to develop essential life skills such as public speaking, teamwork, leadership, resilience and more. These sessions promote a growth mindset and focus on tapping into emotional intelligence to help students become the best version of themselves and handle various situations and motivate their final push towards academic success.
This is an opportunity for every single one of our Year 8 students to experience a day in a workplace over the two week period 17-28th March. Parents or friends/family members will offer a placement for the day at their workplace and where this is not possible a placement will be found in school or through one of our industry partners.
Worktree's Virtual Career WorkOut sessions provide students with live, online interactions with professionals from various industries. These one-hour sessions are designed to offer up-to-date career information in an engaging and flexible format. worktree.org
Session Structure:
Introduction: Students participate in a 'World of Work' quiz and practice formulating open-ended questions.
Professional Interaction: Five business volunteers join the session live, sharing their career journeys and current roles.
Q&A: Students actively engage by asking questions, guided by an expert facilitator who ensures a dynamic discussion.
These sessions assist schools in meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks, the government's career guidance framework, ensuring positive outcomes for students.
We are pleased to introduce Briggs and Forester who are our new Industry partner . Briggs & Forester offer apprenticeships. Below are two videos interviewing current and past apprenticeship holders that might be of interest. This company will also be supporting students in year 8 with a day in a workplace if they are unable to find one of their own .

A visit to DMC & the Silverstone Museum at Silverstone Park. DMC combine digitalised, next-generation additive manufacturing capabilities with world-class engineering expertise to deliver truly pioneering solutions for businesses operating at the forefront of their industry.
Day Two:
Workshops & Careers Q&A Panel. Cosworth and CCS Composites both ran workshops for our Post 16 students which were followed by a Careers Q&A Panel featuring 7 STEM industry experts based in and around Silverstone. Both the students and the panellists were very enthusiastic and got a great deal from the experience.
