At Northampton School for Girls, we aim to ensure that all of our students receive the best advice regarding their future, tailored to their individual needs. Whilst many of our students will continue their education at university, we also provide guidance on the local job market, apprenticeships/T-levels, and information on international opportunities they may wish to explore in a gap year. Our careers programme is delivered through the curriculum and PSHE, with visits to local universities and seminars delivered by a range of expert speakers. Furthermore, appointments can be booked with our independent and impartial careers advisors in a one-to-one meeting. We are resolutely committed to delivering an inclusive careers programme that ensures Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles are fully embedded by offering tailored support for all students, regardless of their starting points, needs, or vulnerabilities.
"Good career guidance is the key to social mobility: it is about showing young people—whatever their background—the full range of opportunities available to them, and helping them make the best choices for their future."
– Sir John Holman, Gatsby Foundation
The NSG Careers Hub is designed to support both students and parents by highlighting the different pathways available to students at Post 16 and Post 18. The Hub has a wealth of information and provides up-to-date details and opportunities to learn about and experience more of careers.
