You must sign out AND back in on the online log when you go to the bathroom.
You must take the lanyard pass with you to go to the bathroom or to get water.
You must get a written pass from Mrs. O'Neil for any other reason to leave the room.
There are good times and not-so-good times to leave the room. Choose your time wisely.
If you are found wandering or abusing hall privilege's, then this privilege will be revoked.
Getting Your Attention for Instruction
I will either play a sound or dim the lights and start counting down from 5. You have until 1 to be silent and ready to listen.
Listening includes looking at me, hands off of the computer and headphones OFF and on the counter. If there is something playing in the headphones, please pause it.
If I need to take control of your computer to demonstrate something I will give you fair warning. No whining!
Class Discussions
Because everyone's thoughts matter, you are expected to raise your hand to speak.
Because everyone's thoughts matter, you are expected to listen when others are speaking.
If you disagree with someone, you will raise your hand to request a chance to kindly disagree, with a well though-out response that acknowledges the other person's opinion while stating yours as well.
If you agree you can silently make an agreement signal without vocalizing your agreement.
Music
Music can be a distraction for some, but can help others focus better.
You may only use music during independent work time and only when given permission.
The volume needs to be low enough that you can still hear me.
If I need to give instructions your music must be paused and headphones removed.
You may listen to music, but NOT watch the videos. Put the tab in the background.
You are on a school computer, so music must be clean.
Games
The internet is full of distractions. But you are here to learn.
Games are ONLY for when you are done with your assignments and you have been given permission.
You may NOT play any shooter games or any games with violence or weapons.
My website has links to games that are worth trying if you have free-time.
Anyone using games when not given permission will have their computer use revoked for the day.
Digital Tools
I will often use online tools like Blooket, Kahoot, Gimkit and Padlet.
For all of these you are required to use your name.
For Padlet, you will use full thought out sentences, your posts are to be on-topic and pictures are only accepted if they enhance or clarify your post.
Food and Drink
Drink containers with lids can be at the desk, but with the lid on.
If you MUST eat during class, you must do so at the beginning of class and must be at the center table, away from the computer. Be efficient and tidy about it. Hand sanitize before you go back to your computer.
If you accidentally spill a drink or drop food, PLEASE clean it up immediately.
Cell Phones
Cell phones should be in your locker or your backpack.
They are NOT to be used in class, unless given verbal permission.
You will be given 1 warning. Then, if I see it I will take it.
Absences
Check with Mrs. O'Neil to see what you have missed while you were out.
You are responsible for making up missing work.
You are welcome to stay after on my extra help day to complete any missing work.
You can do missing assignments at home or in advisory if it's an online assignment.
