Grading

My Grading Philosophy

I believe the learning process is more important than the grade.  However, grades do matter.  I give valuable feedback to encourage the learning process. Students should use that feedback to evaluate their own learning and where there may be misunderstandings or gaps in their knowledge.

I do not take points off for work being late.  Digital work must be turned in through Google Classroom for me to know it is complete.

I highly encourage students to fix and resubmit work that has already been graded.  They should use the feedback that was given to make improvements and to better understand the concepts being evaluated.  All work will be regraded according to changes made.  This approach applies to both classwork and projects.  Quizzes are different.  Students must get approval from me to retake a quiz.
