Two Week Plan Reflection# 1

Goal 1: Learn new math concepts (I think I said something like to finish pre calc in some large amount).

I spent quite a bit of time learning precalc. However I was unable to spend the amount of time I set out due to my struggle to finish eagle scout on time. Although I was unable to finish nearly the amount I had hoped, I still learned quite a bit about composite and inverse functions. However I am glad to say that the depth of understanding in these concepts have greatly increased. I think the amount of specific skills is quite limited because of my cp class.

Goal 2: I couldn’t remember what my second goal was and I was unable to find an email saying what the goal was. However I am just going to talk about the eagle scout work I did Instead. During this period I had spent A lot of time working to finish the 21 merit badges I needed for eagle scouts. Although I had to finish all the requirements by my 18th birthday I also needed them done to fill in my eagle scout application, which needed signatures so it was important that I finished early enough to get it in.

Goal 3: Ask friends what math concepts they find difficult

I was unable to ask for specific units due to the amount of time put into my first goal and my eagle scout. However, through brief conversation with some of my friends I had learned that they had some problems with a few different units that were later in the year. which I had not relearned due to the order of lessons on khan academy.

Goal 4: Turn new math skills into lessons

This goal was rather unrealistic because of the amount of time that I had to spend on school and scouts while also balancing other aspects of my life.

Evidence #1

As you can see from the images I finished a full section in Khan academy and got a 100% on the test.

Evidence #2

This Is a screenshot of communications with my personal management merit badge councilor. Personal management was very useful information and provided a basis to make smart financial decisions.

Reflection:

At first it seemed possible to get these goals done. However I would soon get a wake up call in terms of the difficulty of material. I was at first surprised at how much there was to learn for precalc that we did not go over in class. I guessed that the reason for this was because of my course level, CP. I later would ask my teacher about several of the concepts and she told me that several of them were just not in the curriculum. As for my eagle scout I had spent some hours finishing paperwork to complete various merit badges. I finished the personal management and personal fitness merit badges as well as others however I think these teach valuable life skills.
