- Reviewed and discussed school goals and current 2018-19 TrustLand Plan, including budget and action plans
- Reviewed and discussed Reading Achievement Plan
- PTA Report:
Fall Book Fair - nearly $1500 earned in Scholastic Dollars for school. Money will be spent to buy books for Battle of the Book prizes, classroom libraries, and students involved in Special Education.
Red Ribbon Week ideas - 1) begin Red Ribbon week with an informative assembly, possibly with local police office and/or K-9 unit; 2)Use high school art students (organized by Lucy Quinn) to incorporate a "Paint Night" for each class during school hours to reinforce positive drug free activities; 3) snack/treat after painting activity.
Potential use of excess PTA funds: 1) help replace sound system in gym; 2) purchase needed classroom items for teachers from their "wish lists".
Action Items:
- Allynne Mower will try to locate and contact K-9 unit for Red Ribbon Week assembly
- Kay D Quinn will discuss Red Ribbon Week painting activity ideas with her daughter, Lucy, to see is she will direct the project.
- Trine Huntington will report generated PTA ideas to PTA President, Heidi Johnson, and PTA board for support and approval.
- No community concerns presented or addressed at this meeting.
- Next Community Council meeting scheduled for December 20 in the school library.
