Denny Fuehrer
Outstanding Athlete Award

Denny Fuehrer was a long time sports editor for the Norfolk Daily News. He was a dedicated reporter who spent an untold amount of time on the road covering all sporting events in Northeast Nebraska. Mr. Fuehrer in particular loved track and field. A native of Sioux Falls South Dakota, Denny Fuehrer held tracksters in very high regard and loved to cover the area track meets. It was not unusual to see him at several meets in one day. This award is given by the Daily News in honor of his love for the sport and the individuals competing in it.
The Denny Fuehrer Outstanding Athlete Award is given to an individual based on their performance during the Norfolk Track and Field Classic. The individual selected is chosen by a group of coaches and members of the media.
