CCSU and Newington Public Schools have established a partnership agreement that allows Newington High School students the opportunity to take up to two evening courses per semester, four per academic year, to earn university credit if the student earns a grade of “C” or higher. Participating students will have the costs of tuition and fees waived. Students will be responsible for purchasing all required course materials.
The following are guidelines for enrolling in an evening course at CCSU:
Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students interested in enrolling who do not meet all established criteria will be considered on a case by case basis.
Eligible students may take any course that is not offered at Newington High School and is not a graduation requirement.
Enrollment in courses is on a space available basis.
Priority will be given to eligible juniors and seniors. Interested students should schedule a meeting with their school counselor to review the course description, course prerequisites, and verify the course is held in the evening. Students need to complete the CCSU registration form and submit it to the School Counseling Office.
