Sociology is a junior/senior elective course that examines human behavior and the ways individuals are influenced by other people and society. The course lessons will encourage students to think critically about the connection between their individual lives and the larger world around them. Specific topics that will be explored will include the Sociological Imagination, sociological perspectives, culture, deviance & crime with a focus on inequalities (gender, race, ethnicity, and social class). This is a discussion-based course in which students will continue to work on reading, writing, and speaking skills.
