Conservation in Connecticut is a semester-long course that explores the ecosystems in Connecticut, the issues that threaten these ecosystems, and the conservation strategies being used to restore and maintain them. . Topics include environmental science, wildlife conservation, aquatic ecosystems, forest ecosystems, and sustainability. Students will have an opportunity to participate in the Trout in the Classroom conservation project where they will raise trout from eggs and release them into the Farmington River. By participating in this conservation project, students are eligible for a scholarship opportunity. Students will be able to practice the skills they have learned during an Environmental Science Day, as well as grow a variety of pollinator and heirloom plants they can take home.
