This course examines two and three dimensional geometric figures and their properties. Connections between Algebra and Geometry are enhanced so students are able to make sense of the world around them. Units of study are aligned to the Connecticut Standards and include (1) foundations of geometry, (2) lines, reasoning and proofs, (3) triangles, (4) polygons and their properties, (5) similarity, (6) right triangles and trigonometry, (7) circles, (8) applications of probability, and (9) spatial reasoning. Geometry and Algebra I are not designed to be courses that should be taken concurrently.
