ENGLISH FOR MULTILINGUAL READERS

This year-long English course is designed to support multilingual readers in developing the essential skills for becoming independent readers and critical thinkers. Through a wide range of texts, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and media,  students will strengthen their reading comprehension, inferencing, and analytical abilities. Emphasis will be placed on engaging with texts by asking meaningful questions and forming original interpretations. Students will also develop academic vocabulary, practice close reading strategies, and engage in discussions and writing that foster reflection and growth. By the end of the course, students will be able to read with greater confidence and communicate their ideas thoughtfully, preparing them for success in school and beyond.
