This course focuses on medical terminology in the context of the structure and function of the human body and diseases. Students will learn about the organs of the various body systems and their functions. They will also be able to identify clinical procedures and abbreviations related to each body system. Students will also explore disease symptoms, diagnoses, and treatments that affect the various body systems. Throughout their studies they will develop the specialized medical vocabulary needed in a clinical setting.This course is conducted in conjunction with the University of Connecticut ‘s fall AH2001 course which grants 2 college credits to a student who successfully completes the program. There is a fee associated with earning college credit for this course.
