MEDICAL SCIENCES II -  UConn ECE

An overview of health professions. A variety of allied health professions will be highlighted. Speakers representing each profession will be invited to describe their work/general duties of the profession, the work environment, educational requirements, and employment trends. By investigating various professions in allied health and participating in career exploration assignments, students will have the opportunity to make informed decisions about their careers. They will prepare to work with different members of the healthcare team. This course will also focus on how health professionals handle medical emergencies. Students will gain an understanding of the basic principles of infection control, including universal standard precautions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
