Human Anatomy and Physiology is a year-long course designed for students who want to further their knowledge of the structure and function of the organ systems in the human body. It builds on many of the concepts learned in honors biology and chemistry and allows students to apply those principles to authentic life situations as they study the human body. Students will learn more advanced laboratory skills and techniques. Dissection with dignity is an integral part of the laboratory experience. Each unit consists of the structure and function, and diseases and disorders of each system. While these two components are the main focus of each unit, there are other topics as well that focus on critical thinking and application skills. Human Anatomy and Physiology will help prepare students to take more advanced courses in the medical and health related fields.
