Can you live without Tik Tok, X, Instagram or Snapchat? Merge your knowledge of social media with the ever-changing world of marketing. This course provides students the fundamentals of marketing using real-world business examples. Topics include: buyer decision making process, target marketing, product life cycle, and strategies to price and promote products and services. Students will create and present a comprehensive marketing plan. Marketing education focuses on DECA activities and involvement in the marketing of the school store. Students will also have the opportunity to attend DECA conferences and competitive events. Students will explore the variety of careers within the marketing field. This fulfills the requirement for Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Students enrolled in grades 9-12 may be eligible to receive college credit for successful completion of Principles of Marketing.
