AP STUDIO ART /AP 2D DESIGN/AP 3D DESIGN
Advanced Placement

Grade 11 & 12
Prerequisite: Advanced Coursework in Art
Students in the advanced placement art courses follow the College Board's Curriculum for their chosen content area. Students may select from one of the three concentrations;
Two-D Design Portfolio: digital imaging, graphic design, photography;
Three-D Design Portfolio: sculpture, architectural models, jewelry, metalwork, ceramics; or
Drawing Portfolio: drawing, painting, mixed media, rendering realistic and abstract forms
Students will complete and submit a portfolio of their work, demonstrating quality (excellence in original works), a sustained investigation (in-depth, thematic & personal commitment to a particular artistic concern) and synthesis (variety of artistic experiences that connect. ). Successful students may earn college credit and/or advanced placement credit depending upon the individual college involved and the quality of their submitted AP Portfolio.
