What apps do I download?

For most US students, you will only need to download Microsoft (Office) 365 apps and the Edge or Chrome web browser. Once you have a laptop that meets our minimum required specifications, please install these. In order to access your @northwestschool.org account you will need to read, agree to, and digitally sign the Responsible Use Agreement.

Microsoft (Office) 365:

Get Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and more...

You can find detailed instructions for installing Office here.

You can also run many of these tools directly in your browser. To access your account online, go here:

You can log in with your Northwest School email account, which will be your username @northwestschool.org.

A web browser:

Microsoft Edge

If you are going to use Chrome, you might as well use Edge. It is a fork of the Chrome project and syncs with your Microsoft account.

Google Chrome

Google's browser. It works.

Adobe Creative Cloud (If applicable):

If your student is taking certain classes, they may need to download Adobe apps.

We recommend installing the Adobe CC app first. This will make it easy to install any other Adobe Apps when you need them in class. You will have access to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and many other tools!
