Backstage Class Parents

Important Information for Backstage Volunteers

Backstage volunteers play a critical role in dancer supervision, safety, and organization.

• Backstage Class Parents must attend the entirety of all In-Studio & Dress Rehearsals for their assigned class. They must also be backstage with their assigned class for the entire Recital performance.

• For all rehearsals and performances, volunteers are responsible for every dancer in their assigned class until they are officially checked out through NTDA staff. Early dismissals are NOT permitted.

• ONLY Irving Arts Center employees, NTDA staff, dancers, and approved volunteers are allowed in the Green Room and Backstage areas. Class Parents may NOT invite family members or anyone else Backstage.

• Because these responsibilities directly impact the safety and supervision of our dancers, volunteers are expected to fully honor these commitments. Class Parent volunteers who do not follow these expectations may not be permitted to serve in this role in future performances.

Mandatory Class Parent Meeting

Please attend the meeting time that occurs just prior to your assigned class’s In-Studio Rehearsal on Saturday, April 25th. You will receive the information you need in order to assist with that rehearsal later the same day. 

• 9:00–9:30 AM

  • ALL Saturday classes (excluding Tap 1 & 2)

  • ALL Weekday 1st Dance & Mini Movers classes

• 12:30–1:00 PM

  • Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday Fundamentals classes

  • ALL Level 1/2/3 classes
