Parking & Arrival
Families will park in the North Lot and walk into the Carpenter Theater entrance to check their dancers in. (Parking information can be found HERE)
For all call times, dancers must arrive in costume with complete hair and makeup.
Dancers must wear cover-ups (leggings or pants with a zip-up hoodie or sweater) over costumes when arriving and leaving.
Dancer Check-In
Upon arrival, dancers are to be signed in by a parent or guardian, and must be signed out when it is time to leave, no exceptions.
Any medical conditions that may require attention during rehearsal or performance should be made known to NTDA staff upon arrival.
If someone other than the parent/guardian is picking up your child, a permission note must be provided.
Emergencies preventing on-time arrival should be communicated via text to the studio number (817-242-6535) as soon as possible.
Upon arrival, all dancers (including teenagers) must be checked into the Green Room by a parent/guardian, where an attendant will count them present.
If your dancer has any medical conditions or is carrying medication (EpiPens, inhalers, etc.), notify supervisors at sign-in. All medication must be clearly labeled and given to supervisors.
Footwear
Street shoes are required, and dance shoes should not be worn outside.
Ballet shoes should be brought in a labeled bag, with the dancer’s name written inside both the shoes and the bag.
Valuables
Dancers are not to bring valuables, especially electronic devices.
Mobile phones are not allowed backstage or in changing areas during rehearsal or performance.
NTDA and the venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Green Room & Backstage
NTDA staff cannot run messages between parents and dancers, so please ensure your dancer has everything they need before heading backstage.
To protect costumes, Water is the only drink allowed to be brought into the Green Room.
Should your dancer need a snack to refuel backstage during Dress Rehearsal &/or Performance, Snack Packs are available for Pre-Order.
Audience
Private videography and photography are strictly prohibited. NTDA will provide these services so families can enjoy the performance.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the theater. Any fines assigned by the Venue to NTDA will be passed along by NTDA to those families who choose to disregard this policy.
Explicit language, inappropriate attire, and offensive or criminal behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Alcohol, smoking, and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the premises.
Dress Rehearsal
Dancers will get to practice everything just as it will happen during the Performance. Full costumes, hair, and makeup, along with professional Lighting design on the big stage. This is
Both Friday evening and Saturday morning Dress Rehearsals are closed, meaning no one is allowed to stay in the theater and watch. Irving Arts Center requires employees to staff the Lobby when patrons are present and will not accommodate any lobby traffic either during the rehearsals.
After checking your dancer in, we recommend enjoying one of the many coffee shops or brunch spots in the area. If you need some suggestions, you may click HERE. Take a mental break and prepare your heart to see your dancers SHINE BRIGHT onstage during the performance. They're going to make you very proud!
Dancer Check-Out
Once the performance is over, dancers are to be checked out from the Green Room by an attendant. This process takes a few minutes, and we appreciate your patience while we confirm that all dancers are picked up by their rightful guardians.
Please be sure that your dancer has collected all belongings before leaving the premises. Anything left behind will be collected by NTDA and placed in the lost and found back at the studio.
Dancers will not be permitted to meet parents/guardians in the lobby or outside the venue. Pick-up must take place only in the designated area.
