Athlete Expectations: Parent Info
Other Sports/Activities: I will work around schedules as best I can IF runners COMMUNICATE with me. I may ask runners to run on his/her own if they miss practice.
GWOC Meet on Saturday October 14! Plan to be competing at this meet! We want our best team represented that day!
Missing Practice: I do NOT expect runners to skip practice. This is considered an unexcused absence. Runners can be removed from the team for 3 or more unexcused absences.
If an athlete is absent from school due to illness, that is an excused absence.
If an athlete has a doctor/dental appointment, that is an excused absence.
If an athlete is going to HW club, etc - that is an excused absence BUT I expect the athlete to COMMUNICATE this with me.
Workouts: Runners will improve if they are working to their full potential! I expect runners to always give their best effort. Every workout serves a purpose and runners will only get the benefit of the workout if they do it correctly!
Understand the difference between an injury and soreness/tightness. As athletes push themselves to run farther and faster, they will get sore! That is normal! Athletes need to talk to me about how they are feeling so we can determine if they are sore/tight or have an injury that needs medical/trainer attention.
