NORTH CHESHIRE WIND ORCHESTRA

The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra (NCWO) is a friendly and dynamic community wind orchestra with around 45 members. We’re based in Warrington and rehearse on a Friday evening from 7.30 – 10pm.

We currently have vacancies for an oboe, trumpet, percussion and string bass.

We enjoy playing a wide range of music with a focus on music for modern wind orchestra. The NCWO operates a commissioning scheme and over the years we have commissioned numerous works for wind orchestra. Our most recent composition was ‘The Ghost Hunters of Walton Hall‘, composed for the NCWO by Dan Whibley. This was premiered by NCWO on Saturday 11th May 2024.

NCWO is a community symphonic wind orchestra based in Warrington. The membership of around 45 players is drawn from throughout the north west of England. Whilst a number of members make their living from music, the group is essentially non-professional.

Our next concert will be on Saturday 20th November at St John's URC in Warrington. More details will be available soon.

North Cheshire Wind Orchestra has a strong commitment to commissioning new music. Since 2001, the band have been involved in commissioning a number of new works and one re-orchestration for wind ensemble.
