The North Cheshire Wind Orchestra (NCWO) is a friendly and dynamic community wind orchestra with around 45 members. We’re based in Warrington and rehearse on a Friday evening from 7.30 – 10pm.

We currently have vacancies for an oboe, trumpet, percussion and string bass.

We enjoy playing a wide range of music with a focus on music for modern wind orchestra. The NCWO operates a commissioning scheme and over the years we have commissioned numerous works for wind orchestra. Our most recent composition was ‘Catharsis‘, composed for the NCWO by Tom Harrold. Catharsis was premiered by NCWO on Saturday 12th March 2022.

NCWO is a community symphonic wind orchestra based in Warrington. The membership of around 45 players is drawn from throughout the north west of England. Whilst a number of members make their living from music, the group is essentially non-professional.

Our next concert is our Summer Pops concert on Saturday 29th June at 2pm. This will be a short, relaxed concert followed by a family picnic. Please see the 'Concerts' link in the menu for more information.

North Cheshire Wind Orchestra has a strong commitment to commissioning new music. Since 2001, the band have been involved in commissioning a number of new works and one re-orchestration for wind ensemble.
