Permission Slips for the Woodworking Club:
Session 2 Feb. - May 2025 (not updated yet)
There are usually 2 sessions of the Woodworking Club each school year. The first session runs from early October through Winter Break. The second session runs from February through April. The Club usually meets on Thursday after school from 3:45 - 4:45.
Students who have not received safety instruction in Woodworking class will need to turn in a separate Safety Requirement worksheet. Students will be able to work on projects listed on the Project Handouts based on their grade level. Please see the Project Handout on this website based on their grade level. Some exceptions will be made for students who show more advanced skills.
Note: Permission slips are usually handed out two to three weeks prior to when the club begins and due one week after they are handed out. Students need to listen to the daily morning announcements to hear when the permissions slips become available. Permission slips are handed out by the club teacher. Students need to turn in the permission slip with a parent signature by the due date to be considered for the club. Mr. Caris will then determine which students will be in the club and notify all students whether they are in the club or not.
The Woodworking Club has a maximum 15 students due to safety and space concerns. Students will be chosen based on the criteria below listed in order of priority:
Students who have never been in the club and it is their last chance to be in the club at NBJH.
Students who have never been in the club but have been in Woodworking class and received safety instruction.
Students who have never been in the club and have not been in Woodworking class yet.
Students who have already been in the club once and it is their last chance to be in the club at NBJH.

Students who have already been in the club once.
