Free ticket requirements for each strand:
Each strand has a specific schedule of events; check the schedule for each strand.
To qualify your students will need to choose at least one strand and complete the required activity or activities in that strand. Free tickets are available on a first come first serve basis to Ohio students who participate in one of the three Student Strands.
1. - Maker Showcase Requirements
Students will exhibit work they created in school or at home prior to Innovation Faire.
Required: Display your exhibit from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Highlight and reward your most creative, innovative thinkers and Makers by encouraging them to participate in our exciting learning strands. View other showcases, network with other students, ask questions and take back ideas to implement at school during this time.
Optional: Visit Fab Labs and/or Complete Mars Rover Challenge
2. -Cedar Point Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (CPR3) Design Challenge Requirements
Students will participate in a design-challenge from start-to-finish while at the park.
Students will work in teams of 4 to solve the real world problem of a smarter reduction, reuse, or recycle of refuse at Cedar Point. Students will use design thinking to learn about the problem, brainstorm ideas and create and prototype solutions. The top proposal will receive 4 Cedar Point tickets, 4 All Day Dining Plans, and 4 Fast Lane Plus, for a complete Cedar Point experience!
Required: Participate in Design Challenge Activities from 11 AM - 1 PM
Optional: Visit Fab Labs and/or complete Mars Rover Challenge
3. - Mars Rover Challenge
Part 1 - Complete Mars Rover Challenge (schedule below)
Part 2 - Visit and explore Mobile Fab Lab and 3-D zSpace Playground (located near the Colosseum near the lake side of the park). Students will plan, design and create an artifact of their choosing.
Required: Students must complete the Mars Rover Challenge AND visit a Fab Lab.
Schedule your Mars Rover Time Slot as a part of your registration process.
Fab Labs / 3-D zSpace Are open to all participants in each strand all day. You may visit them as your schedule permits.
Students will visit fab labs or zSpace to learn about the tools, their uses, and try to create something of their own choosing.
