Fab lab / 3d Lab

Mobile labs will be available from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The mobile labs are trailer sized portable labs that feature the same equipment inside some of the most prestigious fab labs, maker spaces or 3-D labs! Each student should visit the Fab Labs or 3D zSpace during their visit.

What is zSpace?

zSpace provides experiences and the medium to support instruction and students’ learning and curiosity. Students learn by asking questions, gathering information, developing models, testing ideas, analyzing data, and developing conclusions. Teachers facilitate learning by setting up tools and resources that help students through the lesson.

Students will be able to experience a variety of VR experiences including: the human heart, virtual dissection, virtual car brakes repair, 3D modeling, as well as trying their hand at welding.

What is a Fab Lab / Maker Space ?

Fab Lab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering (personal) digital fabrication. A fab lab is typically equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make "almost anything".

This lab will be set up in a tent where students will experience and use the following stations: Laser Cutters, CNC Machines, 3D printer, and vinyl cutters and printers. Students will have an opportunity to meet with subject matter experts to learn and apply their new skills by making a personalized dog tag for the first every Success Bound Innovation Faire.
