A perfectly sunny day in August 1885 set the scene for the glorious unveiling of the Washburn Memorial Library. The dedication ceremony drew a crowd of nearly 2,000 people, including some key participants and speakers.

The current library holds historic correspondence, photos, diaries, and town records from the 19th century Maine estate. It is our goal to preserve and share these insightful artifacts, so that they may remain for years to come.
