Students must earn 21 credits to graduate
Students must show competency by earning a score of 684 on ELA II and Integrated Math 1/Algebra 1 End of Course Exams or complete one of the following:
A. Demonstrate two career-focused activities (one must be foundational):
FOUNDATIONAL
Proficient scored on WebXams
A 12-point industry credential
A pre-apprenticeship or acceptance into an approved apprenticeship program
SUPPORTING
Work-based learning
Required scores on WorkKeys
Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal
B. Enlist in the Military
C. Complete college coursework
Earn credit for one college-level Math and/or college-level English course through Ohio's College Credit Plus Program
Show readiness
Earn two diploma seals from the list below; at least one of the two must be Ohio-designed:
Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal (OHIO) - Meet requirements and criteria established for the readiness seal, including demonstration of work-readiness and professional competence
Industry-Recognized Credential Seal (OHIO) - Earn an approved industry-recognized credential that is aligned to a job considered in demand
College-Ready Seal (OHIO) - Earn remediation-free scores on the ACT - 18 English, 22 Math, or SAT 1110
Military Enlistment Seal (OHIO) - Provide evidence that the student has enlisted in one of the US Armed Forces
Citizenship Seal (OHIO) - Earn a score of proficient or higher on the US History AND Government End of Course Exams
OR earn a score that is at least equivalent to proficient on an appropriate Advanced Placement Exam
OR earn a final course grade that is equivalent to a "B" in an appropriate class in the College Credit Plus Program.
Science Seal (OHIO) - Earn a score of proficient or higher on the Biology End of Course Exams
OR earn a score that is at least equivalent to proficient on an appropriate Advanced Placement Exam
OR earn a final course grade that is equivalent to a "B" in an appropriate class in the College Credit Plus Program
Earn an Academic Honors Diploma Seal (OHIO) Honors Diploma
Seal of Biliteracy (OHIO) - Meet requirements and criteria, including proficiency requirements on assessments in a world language and English.
Technology Seal (OHIO) - Earn score equivalent to proficient on an Advanced Placement Exam, OR Earn a “B” or higher in an appropriate course taken through the college credit course program, OR Complete courses offered through the district that meets guidelines developed by the state department.
Community Service Seal (LOCAL) – Must complete 30 or more hours of community
service during high school. Service hours must be approved by the Principal, and pre-approval is recommended. The following information needs to be completed in” forms” in powerschool: Name and description of the organization, description of the activity, and timeline for completing the service hours.
Fine and Performing Arts Seal (LOCAL) – Must earn at least 2 credits of approved fine/performing arts program electives in one of the following disciplines: Visual Arts, Dance, Drama/Theatre, Music, or Media Arts during high school.
Student Engagement Seal (LOCAL) – Must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
Must complete at least one full season of a school-sponsored varsity, junior varsity, or freshman sport. Coach or Advisor must verify completion.
Must participate in at least one full year of an NOHS club or organization. Advisor must verify completion.
