All About Mrs. Shapiro
I grew up in Vienna, Virginia and moved to Newport News in 1999 to attend Christopher Newport University. In 2004 I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Psychology and began my career as a fourth grade teacher in Newport News. After teaching fourth and fifth grade for 12 years I decided to make the switch to school librarian. In 2016 I earned a Master’s Degree in Education and became the library media specialist at Deer Park Elementary. I love my work with our amazing students and look forward to many more great years here.
