Tired of all those old generic Christmas movies where Santa defeats everyone with the power of Christmas? If so, Violent Night might be the movie for you. This thrilling movie puts a very dark twist on Christmas and is not for the faint of heart.
One dreadful Christmas Eve, a band of mercenaries invade and capture a wealthy family inside their own home. As the family is being held hostage and the mercenaries investigate and interrogate them, the youngest daughter Trudy Lightstone (Leah Brady) sneaks away to find the walkie talkie her father gave to her a little while ago. Her father promised her that the device would contact Santa Claus wherever he was. It just so happened that Santa Claus (David Harbour) was in the game room where the matching walkie talkie lies. Trudy and Saint Nick get into contact with each other and she successfully enlists the help of the most violent Santa ever.
Produced and directed by Tommy Wirkola, Violent Night is rated R and has a rotten tomato of 82%. Starring David Harbour as Santa Claus, John Leguizamo as Scrooge, Alex Hassel and Beverly D’Angelo as Gertrude and Jason Lightstone. The movie is rated R because of violence, heavy language, and a bit of gore.
Due to Violent Night being an action comedy movie, critics are having very mixed opinions on it but almost all are positive towards the film.
Violent Night was released on December 2nd and is still premiering in theaters. It is expected to start streaming on HBO Max before the end of 2022 but most likely after Christmas day.
Come out to see the best Christmas movie of 2022 starring the most ruthless Santa Claus you might ever see before the year ends.
