Carry on your back the weight of the world
Islands
And we try not give the gift of leaving you
Head to the birthing Earth but conditionally up to face the blessing of the sun
I know we cannot carry your weight
We burden you
Too selfish to leave leisure and let you retire
But we lie and say we’ll make up rent next month

Her purple perfume wafting through the living room,
Irises blooming like sunshine at the break of dawn,
The shiny metal shark resting on the cabinet,
A mess of trinkets, red, blue, green, purple, all scattered along the dresser,
Fish wandering around their large full tank,
Plump passion fruits growing on a twisting vine,
The wet green grass glowing with dew drops,
My wonderful house, full of colors and culture
