Math in 116 with Mrs. Orduña

Welcome Back Mustangs!

To introduce myself, I am Mrs. Orduña and this is my fifth year teaching math at Costa Mesa Middle School and High School. This year, I will be teaching Math 1 & Enhanced Math 2. In addition to teaching math, I am the Varsity Assistant Coach for our CMHS Girls' Softball Program. This will be my 10th season coaching for the Mesa Mustangs.

Outside of the classroom, I most enjoy spending time with my husband and family, watching Angels baseball, crafting up some new DIY project for my home or classroom, adventuring outdoors, and watching reruns of Friends or Gilmore Girls on repeat over and over again. I am a detail-oriented and organized person, with order and structure keeping me balanced amidst the chaos of life. However, with hard work to be done, I love my classroom to be a place of fun and lots of good laughs as I grow to know my students each year.

As a teacher, my passion is to love my students and athletes, spending every day helping them to see that they are worthy and matter more than what the rest of the world might tell them. I strive to champion each student in every way I can, whether that is in the classroom, on the athletic field, or in their passions and hobbies. I also strongly believe that ALL students can be successful in mathematics. It may look different for each student, and we might achieve different levels of understanding and comprehension. However, with an approach to learning that is based in community and hard work, we will all have a successful year!

"Every child deserves a champion -

an adult who will never give up on them,

who understands the power of connection,

and insists they become the best they can possibly be."
