The Bio-analytical and Microfluidics lab is located in the newly built "Lopez" Chemistry building, room 235. The lab equipped with modern instruments and equipment that are necessary to carry out bio-analytical and microfluidic research. Some of the main instruments and equipment include two-modern fume hoods, a bio-safety cabinet with UV option, several fluorescence microscopes, a FACSCalibur flow cytometer with two laser systems, a high-speed scientific-CMOS camera (max: 20,000 f/s), Ar ion laser, and an optical bench for fluorescence-based measurements. Additionally, our lab has the necessary facilities for basic soft lithography and wet etching based microfabrication, and this includes a spin coater for thin layer deposition, a high-intensity UV light for photoresist exposure, an oxygen plasma cleaner for surface modification and PDMS sealing, programmable hotplates, PDMS workstation, and anodic bonding station. The lab is also equipped with function generators, amplifiers, and oscilloscopes for acoustic implementation; many basic lab equipment like pH meter, digital balances, shaker, vortexer, refrigerators, etc. Further, each student has his/her workstation with the PI provided computer and printing facilities.
