Q: What is the required paperwork for summer sessions?

A:

  1. A completed Permission Packet is required in advance of any first practice. PPE is required for all 9th graders. The State Assembly passed a law accepting all previous year’s doctor-approved athletic physicals for Fall 2020 only.

  2. A completed Health History Form with COVID-specific questions is required for all student athletes.

  3. A completed COVID Questionnaire is required for all student athletes.

  4. A daily completed COVID Pre-Screening Questionnaire is required for all student athletes.

Q: Will student athletes have access to locker rooms?

A: No, there will be no access to locker rooms. Student athletes are expected to bring all required equipment to practice/games.

Q: Will there be access to the weight room?

A: No, there is no access to the weight room until further notice.

Q: Will students be provided any hydration methods from the school?

A: Student athletes will be permitted and are expected to bring their own hydration, including Gatorade and/or water.

Q: Will student’s temperatures be taken prior to practice/game?

A: Yes, temperatures will be taken by either the School Nurse or Athletic Trainer before every session.

Q: How will you monitor student athletes for symptoms of COVID-19?

A: Students athletes are required to complete a COVID Pre-Screening Questionnaire for all summer sessional and fall practices/games. This form will be shared daily with student athletes by the Athletic Trainer. Student athletes must submit this form the morning of each practice.

Q: Will hand sanitizer be available for student athletes?

A: Hand sanitizer will be provided for every student athlete at all summer session and fall practices/ games during check in.

Q: What is the mask protocol?

A: All coaches are required to wear a face covering when in close proximity to their student athletes. Student athletes are required to wear a face covering when arriving for practice and are will be permitted to remove them during conditioning and/or strenuous activities.

Q: What happens if a student athletes presents any symptoms of COVID-19?

A: If a student athlete shows any symptoms of COVID-19, a parent/guardian will be called to pick up the student athlete and strict guidelines (NJSIAA) will be followed. This protocol will be reviewed with the parent/guardian upon arrival to pick up.

Q: What is the number of student athletes that can participate together?

A: During Phase 1, student athletes will be working in pods of 10 or less. During Phase 2, student athletes will work in pods of 25 or less, still while adhering the guidelines of NJSIAA. Student athletes must remain in their assigned pod for the duration of each session.

Q: Will any additional information be shared with student athletes?

A: It is expected that NJSIAA, the governing body for NJ High School Athletics, will continue to release new protocol and information each week. This information will continue to be shared with our student athletes and their families.
