Q: Will rooms, specifically desks, be sanitized between periods?

A: Yes, there will be extra custodial staff during occupied times to disinfect between classes and will sanitize all touch-points (desktops, doorknobs, handles, faucets, keyboards, etc) throughout the building. This will be happening throughout the day.

Q: How will bathrooms be cleaned during the school day?

A: All building restrooms will be sanitized multiple times daily. There will be extra custodial staff on while the school is occupied to ensure the frequency of cleaning. Cleaning and Sanitizing protocols will be followed and custodians will be required to sign off on cleaning checklists.

Q: Some windows do not open, how will that be addressed?

A: Windows in all classrooms have been inspected. There are currently enough windows in these spaces to be opened to provide fresh air to these spaces.

Q: Are you providing air purifiers and air conditioning to the classrooms that will be used?

A: Classrooms that have air conditioning will be used and rooms that don’t have air conditioning do have windows that open. The district has several portable air purifiers that will be in place and we are in the process of looking to purchase more.

Q: Is there any deep cleaning of school during the weekdays?

A: Yes. In addition to routine, daily maintenance, all touch-points (desktops, doorknobs, handles, faucets, keyboards, etc) will be cleaned and disinfected daily. A disinfecting, sanitizing sprayer will be used at the end of the day in all areas that were occupied during the day.

Q: Does the ventilation system use a filter with a rating of MERV 13 or higher for the air going into classrooms and has it been inspected or replaced recently?

A: We are running MERV 10 filters on all of the HVAC equipment. These units have been thoroughly cleaned and filters replaced. These units will be inspected monthly and filters will be replaced every two months or sooner if necessary.

Q: Will hand washing stations or hand sanitizer be available throughout the school and when will children be required to wash their hands?

A: Yes. Touch-less hand sanitizer stations will be available at all entry points and throughout the hallways. Each classroom will also be provided with hand sanitizer for students and staff.

Q: Will outdoor air supply rates (ventilation) be increased in school buildings, including classrooms, and how will the school verify that ventilation is adequate?

A: Classroom uninvents that supply outside air will run at all times to circulate fresh air into the spaces. The district has a CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) air flow meter and is in the process of verifying that all spaces that will be occupied meet the recommended 15CFM’s per student in the classrooms.

Q: How will the school limit the amount of shared surfaces and what is the plan for regularly disinfecting surfaces throughout the entire school?

A: There will be extra custodial staff in the buildings during occupied times. They will be sanitizing all touch-points (desktops, doorknobs, handles, faucets, keyboards, etc) throughout the building. When the building is not occupied the spaces will be disinfected, sanitized, and wiped down. They will also be using an electrostatic disinfecting sprayer that will cover all areas of the space, not only top surfaces.

Q: What is the disinfecting strategy for bus transportation?

A: Buses will be sanitized before and after every run and there will be a touch-less hand sanitizer stations just inside the bus door that students will be required to use upon boarding the bus. At the end of the day, the buses will be sanitized and wiped down with the electrostatic disinfecting sprayers.

Q: What is being done to include ventilation to keep fresh air moving in classrooms?

A: Classroom univents will circulate and filter the fresh outside air into the space. Windows will also be opened to allow fresh air to these spaces.

Q: How will desks be cleaned after snack?

A: Classroom will be cleaned between classes and at the end of the school. If necessary, desks will be cleaned during the day by a custodian with an EPA registered “Green Clean” disinfectant, sanitizer that has a 3 minute contact time to kill the Human Coronavirus.

Q: Will resource rooms be cleaned when one group of students leave or before the next group of students enters the classroom?

A: Yes. The custodial staff will be on hand to clean and disinfect between classroom usage times.
