Participants are introduced to The Opportunity Myth research and the four key resources essential to ensuring all students have opportunities to learn. Of all four resources in The Opportunity Myth, teachers’ expectations most closely correlated to student outcomes. Participants are introduced to the research around why expectations matter and learn about a model for building adults’ beliefs in what students are capable of. Participants will leave with an action guide to support action planning.
Practicing with TNTP's Math Student Assignment Analysis Tool and real-world examples of student work, participants learn to identify and diagnose high quality Math assignments that are aligned to grade-level TN Academic Standards to ensure that all students receive access to grade-appropriate content.
