2020 Iroquois Middle School Read-a-thon

Iroquois Middle School's 2020 Read-a-thon

is scheduled for Friday, January 10th from 6:30-9:30 here at Iroquois Middle School

This year, I am so excited to be joining Mrs. Connors (our other 6th grade Reading Teacher on Team Mohawk) yet again to assist with the annual Read-a-thon at Iroquois Middle School.

The read-a-thon is a night of quiet, relaxed reading in which students, as well as, parents are encouraged to participate. We are working towards raising money for the Double H "hole in the woods" Ranch in Lake Luzerne. Students are encouraged to collect donations and to bring them the night of the event. Participants should come dressed in comfortable clothing, bring something to lay on and a good book to read. We read for a total of 100 minutes and have 2 breaks in between. The participants are provided with snacks and activities during the breaks. Parents are highly encouraged to attend the event. We love to have parents bring their own book and read quietly with the kids, as well as help set up for the breaks. If you are interested in helping out, please reach out to myself or Mrs. Connors.

Great job readers on a job well done!! Iroquois has now raised over $51,000 since we started the Read-a-thon in 2007!

For the 2019 Read-a-thon, we had a little over 80 students participate and they raised $3,920 to donate to the Double H Ranch - let's see if we can beat those totals in 2020!!

Know that more information will be given to students and families starting in November, but in the meantime if you need additional information, feel free to contact Mrs. Connors or myself at 377-2233, lconnors@niskyschools.org or mbonczkowski@niskyschools.org
