What's in Mrs. Hanson's Purse?
Students worked in archaeological teams to analyze the contents of Mrs. Hanson's purse in order to find facts and make speculations.
Archaeology
Students have been digging into the past by learning about archaeology. They then pretended to be visitors from the future as they looked at everyday items in our classroom through the eyes of an archaeologist trying to understand the objects and their purpose
A white substance comes out of it when you squeeze it. It is sticky and could have been a gadget to get people stuck.
A big, black picture box hanging from the wall with lots of changing colors.
A bucket of overused objects in a plastic sheet. It could be a source of forbidden objects that may be used to terrorize the world. The buckets had a forbidden curse and had to be sealed. The plastic sheet is used to keep the seal from breaking.
This object has a dark tip and shaves a lot. The rear end is pink and may be meant for painting the face red. It was probably meant for fighting in a war as a weapon. I'm guessing it was called "Amazon Basic".
I found a soft four-legged recliner. It held a small cushion with many beautiful designs on it. the recliner had grey lines that looked like mountains. It may have been used for seatin.
It has numbers on the sides. It looks like it was a toy made for bridges.
Anthropology
Students learned about the components of a civilization from reading the book, Weslandia. They then worked in teams to create their own civilizations with a unique geography and climate, form of agriculture, flag, language, monetary system, rules, laws, and clothing.
