Right click on your *Personal folder and share
Share this folder with a personal Google Drive account.
Click the “Share anyway” button.
After sharing, open an “Incognito” browser window in Google Chrome.
In the incognito browser window, log into your personal Google account. Using an incognito browser ensures you will not need to log out of your district account to access your personal drive and vice versa.
Create an NISD Backup folder that you will transfer your files into. Select New → New Folder → Enter title of folder “NISD Backup”
From within your personal account, navigate to “Shared with me”. Locate the *Personal folder you previously shared from your NISD Google Account.
Open the *Personal folder. If you have folders within this folder you will need to repeat the following steps for each folder that contains files you are wanting personal ownership of.
Open a folder that contains files
Select all the files in a folder by clicking the check box near the file name.
Right click → Make a Copy; note, these limits may apply.
Copies will be visible within the folder. They will contain “copy of” in the file name. The copied files are now owned by your personal Google account.
Select all the files in the folder now titled “copy of” then right click → Move To → Use the back button in the upper left of the on the pop up to get out of “Shared with Me”. Locate “My Drive”. Click the arrow next to “My Drive” → “NISD Backup” → Move
Once you have completed the above steps for all folders/files and have confirmed ownership of the new copies is under your personal Google account, go back to your Chrome browser that is signed into your NISD account and delete the *Personal folder from your NISD Google Drive.
Google Sites are stored in your Google Drive. You can search for them specifically by using these Drive filter options to identify "Sites" that are "owned by me." For each site that you want to keep, use the above steps to make a copy in your personal account. Be sure to also make a copy of the embedded files in the Site.
