Kindergarten - 2nd Grades:
Teachers transition with students to different learning sites. Pre-K would also follow this method, with the option to attend the same day as campus Kindergarten.
2 - 4 hour experience
3rd - 5th Grades:
Teachers are stationary at a specific learning site, while students rotate to the teachers.
Chaperones lead students from site to site.
4 hour experience
6th - 12th Grades:
Teachers are stationary at a specific learning sites, while students rotate to the teachers. Additional teachers lead students from site to site.

Nature Explorers

Enjoy the great outdoors while students ask questions about phenomena through direct observations and conversations. Students will demonstrate scientific practices through use of tools, their senses and plenty of discourse. They will enjoy a variety of interdisciplinary learning at each of the eight stations they will engage with, including the soils play lab!

Butterfly and Habitats Discovery
DATES AVAILABLE: April 2025
Let’s find evidence of butterflies and the stages of their life cycle outside! Students will discover the natural habitats for monarchs, painted ladies and other insects and the flowers they need to survive. They will also discuss the ways prairie wildflowers are pollinated, and what type of scientists make these observations.

Nature's Tale: A Wild Robot Adventure

Join us for an exciting literacy adventure inspired by The Wild Robot! We'll embark on a journey through nature, where you'll have the chance to plant beautiful wildflowers, create maps of our exploration, and discover the connections between nature, farms, and the food we eat.

Be a Scientist Everyday
DATES AVAILABLE: February and March 2025
Experience self paced stations engaging in lessons covering Physical, Earth, and Life sciences. You will explore the OLC, use scientific tools, practice safety, make observations, collect data, and engage in meaningful discussions.

The OLC Experience: Earth and Space Edition
DATES AVAILABLE: October, November, December 2024, February 2025
Students will explore specific learning sites to develop science and engineering practices focused on soils, fossils, shadows, and weathering/erosion/deposition. A balance of field work to collect data, and lab work to analyze or develop models.
TEK focus: 5.9A, 5.10A Earth & Space, 5.12A5.12B Interactions in the Environment
