Volunteer with the AMS Band!

We are super grateful to have such a large and thriving band program! But we cannot do it without the help of our awesome parent/ grandparent and community volunteers. Throughout the year we will need volunteer help with everything from office needs, uniform distribution, to feeding the children and traveling with them. You must be an NISD approved volunteer in order to do this.

Please click here to become an approved NISD volunteer.

Thank you so much for all you do to support the Adams Lion Band!

Please fill out this google form to sign up to volunteer for various events.

In addition to the day to day operations of the band program, volunteers are needed for the following activities. For some trips/ activities, spots are limited and will be first come, first served. We do ask however, that if you have something come up and cannot come after committing to do so, please communicate that with us. Please do not just send notice with your student the morning of the event. Often we are purchasing extra tickets for our chaperones, and cannot make last minute changes, or make a last minute chaperone replacement.

Fine Arts Super Saturday

We will be distributing uniforms on this day. Volunteers needed to help guide parents to correct uniform sizes.

Football games/ 8th grade band night with Eaton

Parents are needed to be extra eyes/ hands as we move across to Eaton. We will also need a parent or two willing to load percussion equipment into their larger vehicles to move across the street.

Concerts- Fall, Winter, Spring

We need a few parents to help us out in the audience by monitoring the band who are not performing, ensuring students are remaining quiet and attentive, and using good concert etiquette.

Wind Ensemble Holiday Tour

We will need a parent with a truck willing to pull a small trailer and help with the loading/ unloading of percussion equipment at each elementary school.

Epic Waters Contest/ Trip for Symphonic/ Concert Band

We will need parents to help ride/ monitor buses, hand out wrist bands, and be extra eyes monitoring students in the park.

Spring Trips

We will have several trips in the spring for UIL or festival contests. We will need just a couple parents per trip to be extra hands and eyes.

Spring Beginning Band Trip

We typically need a lot of parent help for this trip as we will be traveling with 120 sixth graders, who need a little more guidance throughout the day. Parents will need to ride/ monitor buses, and be extra eyes and hands as we move to perform, and then have fun at the selected venue for the day.
